A Soccer Star is Born...

We signed Porter up for soccer this fall. Our neighbor is the minister for a local church, and they host the Blythewood area Upward soccer program. They've started a 3 year old division, so we decided to see how Porter would do. He's actually impressed me! While practicing at home is not really his cup of tea, he does focus on his weekly practices, listens to his coaches and actually participates for the majority of the time. Well, this morning was his first game, and the first time he got to get dressed in all his game gear. I must admit, he makes a pretty cute Cheetah!!

The Cheetahs

Showing off his skills

The Cheetahs "won" their first game. AND, Porter even scored a goal...well, he kicked into the other teams goal, but when you're 3 that doesn't seem to matter too much. We're really looking forward to the rest of the season. Go Cheetahs go!!!

A little hug after his 1st victory...sweet boys!!!

Enjoying the Weather

We are certainly enjoying these cooler temps. We spent most of the weekend outdoors, including a trip to the zoo! Come on Fall...I'm ready!!!!

The new kangaroo exhibit...you actually walk through them...no walls, glass, etc!!

"Locks" of Fun

A few weeks ago we travelled down to Charleston with friends...via boat! 12 of us met in Cross, travelled through Lake Moultrie, passed through the Pinopolic Locks into the Tailrace Canal to the Cooper River. I have to admit I was a little nervous about swimming in those waters...all the talk of gators and such...but we never saw one, which out my mind at ease. Hey, I'm not saying they weren't there, but it was nice to know they kept their distance! The trip was pretty amazing, and the whole lock system was much cooler than I would have imagined. We spent the night at the Shem Creek Inn...plans are already in the works for next year! Maybe we'll glimpse a gator!!

Summer Vacation 2011

It's hard to believe the summer is almost over...how is it already August??? We spent most of July on vacation. The boys and I were gone for 2 1/2 weeks (Craig was only able to join us for the last week!) It was awesome, but I've decided NOT to bore you with the 100s of pictures I took...plus, most of them have been on facebook since we got back. But know, we had a great time. There were trips to the boardwalks, mornings at the park, days on the beach, fun at the waterpark, and we even fit in Porter's 1st movie theater experience with Toy Story 3. I had tons of fun, and am already hoping to do the same thing next year. Only change...spread out the activities OFF of the beach...who knew little people would get tired of the sand??? Sounds like a dream to me!!!

After many attempts, this was the best family shot we could get. Sadly Bowman's not looking and my bras showing...oh well...there's always next year! Anyway, we spent an awesome evening at the Sea Isle Yacht Club, courtesy of John & Moira Smith, old friends of the family!

Hmmm...I'm really gonna have to work on Bowman. I swear the boy turns his head the second the flash goes off. Oh well...here are the cousins...hangin' on the lifeguard stand!
