Sparkleberry Fair Fun

This past weekend we went to the local fair in NE Columbia. The rain managed to hold out for a few hours, so we took the boys to check it out. Bowman was content to merely people-watch, but Porter wanted to ride and play on everything. Looks like someone's finally getting brave!

Touch A Truck

**Disclaimer: I actually got these pictures from Clara Smith, who chaired this event...I had my camera, had all intentions of taking pictures and totally came home empty-handed. Thanks Clara for sending these out...and taking so many great pics!!
For the last few months (well, actually since this Fall) I've been working with a group of amazing women on the latest Junior League project, Touch A Truck. Designed for kids, it centered around all things that go and gave children an "up close and personal" look at their favorite modes of transportation. It was the event's first year, and I think we pulled off a great day! I know my kids loved it...and everyone in attendence seemed to be all smiles!!

Check out our super fancy vests...GROOVY!!!

Getting things ready

One of the best performances of the day: LW Conder Steel Drum Band

Let the fun begin!

The New Graduate

Many congrats to Craig's brother! Jonathan graduated from basic training at Fort Jackson on Friday. The ceremony was really nice; they always make my heart swell a little...you can't help but be proud of all those men and women. Jonathan is already off to Fort Belvoir until August, and we're hoping he gets to visit sometime this summer. Porter is awfully proud of his uncle...and isn't afraid to tell anyone that his "Uncle Jonathan is a soldier!" Can't wait to hear what's next!!

The Hunt Is On!!

We spent Easter day in Chapin with Craig's parents. The Easter Bunny visited Grammy and Pop-Pop's house too, and the boys had lots of eggs to find. Porter took off like a wild man; Bowman, on the other hand, hasn't quite gotten the picture. But, he seemed pretty content with the ones he did find. Honestly, the weather could not have been more perfect! In fact, I don't remember the last time we had such a beautiful Easter!

Hmmm...where was the money giving Easter Bunny when I was growing up???

Easter Morning

Easter morning proved to be quite a happy one for my boys. The Easter Bunny came and left many goodies that have left lasting smile on their faces. Though their baskets were filled with only sugar-free goodies (they received PLENTY of candy at the school egg hunts) they were more than excited with everything they got. For Porter, a monster truck, new iTag book, Lightning McQueen, sidewalk chalk, and Cars placemat. For Bowman, new books, a CAT truck, a tow truck, and Mickey Mouse placemat. Happy, happy boys!

And please ignore the mess of my "dining room." A project is underway, and it's taking much longer than I expected...sorry!

To "Dye" For

Mac invited Porter over to dye Easter eggs on Sunday. Porter was really excited; any excuse to hand out with Mac is perfect to him. We headed over after lunch. Craig and I opted to leave Bowman at home (with Craig of course!) So, Porter and I ended up having a fun and relaxing afternoon with Mac and Adair. The boys were very excited while they watched up make the colors, but once the actual dyeing commenced, they were enthralled for about 10 minutes. Then it was back to playing. I have to admit they do play well together...they stayed upstairs for most of the afternoon, which gave Adair and I plenty of time to chat!
