Favorite Summer Purchase

At least, my favorite so far this year. Craig went off to Home Depot on Saturday to buy everything he needed to make the boys' new sandbox. And, he brought this home for me. Honestly, my initial thought was, "What in the hades is that!??!" But, once I hooked it to the hose and set it up, I realized I had the perfect accessory to survive these sunny summer days. This crazy looking contraption creates a dandy mist, perfect for cooling yours truly off when my "oblivious-to-the-heat" little boys want to be outside all afternoon. So, for less than 10 bucks, I'm cool, which is really all I ask for during the summer...so, my advice to all of you who find yourself in the same boat, take a trip to Home Depot; you WON'T be disappointed!!

Last night, my hubby took me to see Carrie Underwood...and she did not disappoint! I mean, not only does the girl have an amazing set of pipes, but the scene and costume changes were pretty impressive! One of the best parts of the whole show was her rendition of "Country Roads" (originally by John Denver.) She hopped aboard a Chevy truck that rode over the audience...seriously she was literally RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!

In all seriousness, it's really nice to see someone who came from a small Oklahoma town make it big in this country and actually have the talent to back it up. Carrie is quick to admit just how fortunate and lucky she is...and doesn't hesitate to thank "American Idol" for getting her where she is. Truly, it's nice to see someone remain so humble! If you have the chance to ever see her live, I say go...you won't be disappointed!

PS -- For all you mommas with little girls out there, take the time to hear one of her newest songs, "Mama's Song." You will definitely well a little!
